Foil bags are a fantastic product for long term food storage of rice, pluses, dried beans, flour, sugar etc. The size of this bag is 30cm wide by 34cm long and can hold upto 5kg.

Are Foil Bags the same as Mylar Bags? Yes, they perform in exactly the same way to offer a long term food storage solution, but at a price that's much easier on the pocket.

These Foil bags are a quality product made in the USA and are 7 mil thick, most are around the 4 mil mark. This extra thickness is important as this offers extra protection from the UV (ultra-violet) in sunlight and also from oxygen penetration for the air around, plus are very hard to puncture accidently. These foil bags are multilayered and have a food safe inner.

To seal these bags use a household clothes iron on the high setting, with no steam to seal the bags or for a crimped seal use a constant heat sealer.

Foil bags are used with oxygen absorbers, please see the related items below. These remove the oxygen from inside the bag, preserving the shelf life of the food stuffs above for many years, usually up to 10 years. For camping or hiking trips or similar, oxygen absorbers are not really needed.

The bag is designed to hold around 5kg of product (12" x 14" approx). The oxygen absorbers we sell match this bag size and you will need one oxygen absorber in each bag.
